Little man is doing good but does need prayers

Wesley is great and full of smiles! He weighs 4# 7oz tonight. He has his eye exam today and there were early signs of ROP.  You can read about ROP here: http://m.kidshealth.org/parent/system/surgery/rop.html
They will recheck him in a week and see if it resolves or has progressed.  Prayers that it resolves! Still no word when the bottle will start.  Maybe tomorrow I can make it on lunch to see dr.
Lol goofy boy!

We didn't see Wesley until late tonight... But all is well.  They have increased his feeding amount to 38mls and he is doing great.  4# 4.5 oz last night.

Look at that chunky boy!!!

Wesley is 8 weeks old 33 weeks gestational age

Wesley is really filling out and doing well.  It's nice going to see him and not have to feel like I am disturbing him now that he is in an open crib.  Joe had to go out of town to help my parents move some furniture so Debbie came with me to visit him.  His head needs to get bigger so I can have a bigger hat selection lol.

5 puppy preemies to end the day

Sorry to write the blog so late today, I had to do a c section on a very pregnant small chihuahua.  She was past her capacity in size and could barely walk.  We knew there was a chance the puppies were not to term but the momma was top priority. We delivered 5 little pups and they seem to be a little early.  Maybe with the extra tlc they will get from the rescue LA Bany Mommas they have a chance.
Wesley is doing great and he weighs 4# 3 oz even. He was wide eyes tonight.
I asked the nurse what the avg was on how long it takes them to learn the bottle.   She said it really varies and some catch on right away and go home.  I was in shock by this statement bc I thought it took weeks and the idea he could be home in 2 weeks vs 6 OMG! We r not ready lol.  Guess we may be buying bottles and diapers before the shower!

Double graduation!

Mr Wesley made two huge accomplishments today! He is a member of the 4# club and he's in a crib!!!!  I'm so grateful that he has done so well.  We were one of the lucky ones that had no roller coaster in NICU.
I had a brief visit at lunch but worth the few minutes it was just to see these accomplishments.
And when we came back tonight Wesley was tired so we held him for a little and kissed him goodnight

Penny pinchin

Joe and I have discussed what an awful ride my car was and how it couldn't be good for my bad back and probably not good for the baby.  Since we have an extra large bill to pay for Wesley's loan we decided to look for a used vehicle that would lower our monthly note, be a smoother ride and easier to get a car seat in an out. We found a great deal on a 2010 rav4 and we signed on it.  Goodbye little kia rio I won't really miss anything but the backup camera.
After deep thought....

Wesley says he approves!
And now it's time for bed!

Poop-cano!

Today was a busy day so no lunch time visits with Wesley.  Wesley's isolet is down to 28.5 C and doing well.  Once at 28 C it starts the 24hr clock.  If all well in 24hr then he is in an open crib! Yay!!!  He is 32.5 weeks gestation.  The nurse today said usually they start on bottle at 34 weeks but I swear the dr told me 33-34 so hopefully he starts next week.  He weighs a whopping 3lb 13.8 oz! He is getting so big (until I see a full term baby!)
So 30 min pass and it's my turn to hold. I decide to change him since I know the next shift nurse is going to come in soon and do it anyway.  All that is there is pee yay I got lucky! And then I left his legs and out comes the poop like a volcanic eruption! So I wait... And more.... And wait and nothing, so I clean him up and get poop on hit outfit so grab another to put him in and have him on clean diaper and more poop! So I wait some more before I dirty another diaper and he's done... Finally!  I tell ya for a little guy he can poop! And boy does it smell!
On a good note he is no longer sleepy and is wide awake for me to take pics.
🎶Everybody was Kung-foo fighting🎶

And YAWN 💤
And that's a happy boy and his paci!

Also we received a glider from Joe's parents today! Can't wait to sit and hold Wesley in it.

Many faces of Wesley Andrew

I am going to have to get some pictures off my phone bc it's full of Wesley!  It's hard not to fill my phone with pics every day!
At lunch time he wasn't as awake as usual so I didn't bother him with pics.  He is doing well with controlling his temp. The isolet is on 30c and going down to 29 tonight.  Once on 28 C for 24hr then he gets out of isolet! So maybe Wednesday or Thursday he will be in open crib!  I'm so proud of my little man.
I love how he is always smiling!
Tonight joe held him then he had to go in for feeding.  Then I held him.  Before I took him out I had to change a yucky diaper PU lol

I guess he likes to poop bc he was smiling the whole time!
Then I took him out and I get this

Look at those cheeks! Finally something to pinch!

Perfection in a small package

Today the nurse told us the dr added orders.  She increased his food to 32mL from 30mL and he is to start weaning to an open crib.  I'm so excited!
As I held him today I couldn't stop thinking about how lucky I am.  I have been through a rough time and have struggled for so many years.  I didn't think my time of pure happiness would ever come.  But now I feel like i haven't been through enough to earn such a perfect gift.  He is a little miracle and I will be forever thankful!
I love this little man... He has truly changed my world!

Wesley meets Malou and PawPaw

My parents came into town to meet Wesley for the first time.  When we got to his room my mom was so surprised how tiny and perfect he was.  She said he looked like a baby doll. He was in the middle of a feeding so we had to wait to take him out but we did get him to smile in the isolet.  After the feeding finished I took him out and handed him to my mom.  I can't remember the last time I had seen such a smile on her face.

I think my dad was nervous about how small he was and he didnt want to hold him but he was pretty excited too!  Wesley had a good visit!  Seeing my moms reaction brought tears to my eyes!
