Wesley is 4 weeks old!!!

I didn't talk to dr today bc we were so busy at work but Joe did.  They said they were switching Wesley to vapotherm and seeing how he does for 24hrs.
Thank you all who prayed for Gracie.  Unfortunately she lost her battle this morning.  She had pancreatitis, aspiration pneumonia and sepsis.  Please continue to pray for her momma Kim as she grieves for her only child. :(
We headed to Monroe around 3:30 and went to see Wesley for an hour then went to dinner.  He is doing awesome so far on the vapotherm! If all continues he will be moved between Tuesday and Thursday next week! Eek!
My friend from high school has been busy crocheting some things for Wesley and we had a couple hats to try on and a toy.  The one she made to his measurements he outgrew! Good to know our boy is growing fast.
Isn't he adorable!!!
Took some pics of his feet and hands bc they are getting some fat on them!
My love for him continues to grow which is hard to believe bc I feel I'm on cloud 9 and how can you get higher than that!
Isn't this the cutest hippo toy!!!??? Thank you so much Tiffany for this one of a kind masterpiece!
After dinner we went back to see Wesley and he is still doing awesome. The weight is questionable bc this morning it showed he lost an ounce and this evening it showed he gained 2.5 ounces.  So hopefully the one this morning was wrong bc the nurse said a gain that much can be a bad thing.  I think he is at 2lb 10 oz but not positive.  We enjoyed our visit and can't wait to see him tomorrow.  Going to say a prayer for his roomate Peytin who was having some difficulty with his oxygen.  I hope it's nothing serious.  Good night all!

The busiest day so far for wise choice animal hospital

Things are really picking up at the clinic and this is our first month we made a profit!  Yay.  I have a very sick baby in the clinic that we are all working hard to get better.  Please say a special prayer for Gracie.  Her mom really needs her to come home well.
The other dr is now taking care of Wesley and she said although she isn't familiar with him yet, that he looks great.  She said if all goes like it looks he can go on the vapotherm? Monday which means they can move him Monday or Tuesday!  I hope this is so but I don't want to rush it.  He is doing so well and I don't want to back track.  That's the only Wesley news I have.
I get very emotionally attached to my patients and Gracie is pretty much the main thing on my mind.  I will go to bed praying for her and I hope you all can do the same.  Thank you for reading!

Bad day with a great end!

Today was not the best of days with the loss of a parakeet and a bearded dragon.  They were just too sick to make it.
Today was a busy day and I didn't have much time to stop and think about anything.  It was 4 and dr hadn't called yet with his update.  I call to check on Wesley between patients and he is doing good tolerating his feedings and nurse said she had to do a bad tape job in his face bc he kept pulling his tube out of his nose.
We get home for work and it's too early to go to Monroe bc visiting isn't until 9.  We decided to take a nap so we wouldn't be to sleepy for our trip.
Well aparently I set my alarm for 7:30am instead of Pm and it was 8:45 when I realize. I freak out bc I assumed Joe wouldn't want to leave this late but he said he was fine to drive.
We made it by 10:30 and Wesley was a wiggler tonight.  The nurse asked if we had a pic of both of is with the baby and we said no.  She told us where to stand and she took a few shots of us.
He was flailing his arms everywhere
He is now 2lb 9oz exactly a pound more than when we found out about him!
I noticed he has meat on his ribs now.  He's filling out well.
He was so wiggly the nurse got in there and lifted him up in air and he was so happy!
After a while he settled and she put him back down.
Here he is striking a pose!
He loves daddy's touch
This is when we told him he was adopted!
He was wiggly again so Joe picked him up ;)
Daddy loves this boy as much as mommy does! Goodnight Wesley we will see u this weekend!!

May 28th

Wesley is doing great and they increased his feedings.  Still weaning down his o2 and he is now 2lb 8oz!  The nurse tonight hadn't had him before or I didn't recognize her but she said he was doing well and hasn't had any episodes of bradycardia for her but he had two earlier today. Oh and his culture is negative!!!! We plan to go see him tomorrow night.  Hopefully next week he will be moved.  Crossing fingers!!!

Short but good!

Wesley is doing great! They started to feed him and he is taking it well.  He is up to 2lb 7oz and being weaned down on his o2.  His o2 is at 28% and the flow was at like 17 over something but I don't know exactly what that is besides pressure.
Tonight we got paint for Wesley's room.  We are doing the top in a green color and a border in middle and a brown on bottom.

Can't wait to see it all come together !!!

Memorial Day with my little guy!

I wish the beds at the McDonald house were better but I can't really complain for a free stay. I need to remember to bring a pillow next time bc now I'm having a lot of neck pain.  My lower back is giving me a lot if problems too bc I have been doing things lately that aggrevate it.  Cleaning is a big one but I can't live in filth.  Any act of bending to pick something up and I get a white hot pain shooting from my lower back down my left leg.  Last night it was my right leg and I was just laying there.  I plan to call the pain dr tomorrow and see about the patch they mentioned.
Although I was hurting seeing Wesley takes all the pain away.  I love seeing him smile and wonder what in the world makes them smile at that age.
He is doing well but he is acting hungry poor guy. They are still holding his food.  The infection may be in the PIC line and if the culture from this morning shows growth, then they will remove it.
The doctor says the transport arrangement is simple.  Just a matter of calling the hospital and scheduling it. The dr predicts possibly in one week unless the infection sets him back.  He is still on a forced pressure of oxygen that they are slowly decreasing.  When he gets to where regular oxygen flow in his nostrils can sustain him then they can move him. If they ran off too fast it can cause problems.
The dr says he doesn't see much of anything but it seems he follows our hands.  Who knows... I will pretend he does ;)
Today I made a flannel blanket to cover his isolet unit.  I have a picture of it on the camera I will have to upload.  Now he has a personal touch.
It's neat how his vitals level out when u place your hand on his chest.  Joe did it for a while and so did I.  Look how peaceful he is under Joe's hand:
I have some custom items being made for him with hippos bc they are so hard to find.  I have this lamp on the way
I also have someone putting a hippo appliqué and his name on a diaper bag that will look like this
I can't wait to see them in person!

I got to sit with Wesley most of the day.  At one point Joe went back to the McDonald house to wash the sheets and I had some one on one time with him. Amazing how entertained one can be watching a baby sleep!
Hopefully these trips to Monroe will be no more soon and he will be here.  I want to see him everyday so he will get stronger faster!

Our little man is 3 weeks old!

Second culture was positive and antibiotics are going.  Wesley is doing good and not acting sick.  He is getting hungry poor guy, but hopefully they start feeding again tomorrow.
Started getting the house cleaned today and then we headed over to Monroe to see him and stay at the McDonald house.
He is really filling out and looking like a boy ;)
I hate that this hat has pink on it.  Like that makes it unisex
But look how cute he is!!!
I want to kiss his little hands and feet so bad!
All I could do is have my hand in there.  We will ask the dr when it is safe to hold him and if we can do kangaroo care tomorrow.

This will be short

Wesley is hanging in there.  They have the bacteria identified as staph aureus which is not one of the super bugs so that is good.  The second culture has no growth so far.
He is doing well and is almost 2#6oz not bad for not being fed.
His chest xray shows some infiltrates in one lung lobe so they are keeping an eye on it.  They will resume feeding on Monday.
It's a hard night for me bc we had a big surgery on a tiger and she didn't recover well and passed.  I can feel good knowing we tried and she is no longer in pain but it hurts that we were so close to making her better :(. Unfortunately tigers don't do well with sedation and this is one of those risks.  This is why you only sedate for good reason.  If she weren't hurting we would have let her alone.  RIP Morticia.

I guess I'm on the roller coaster now.... But I hope it doesn't get scarier. May 23

Well I posted on FB but to those that missed... Wesley's blood culture from earlier this week showed some growth so they discontinued feedings and started antibiotics.  Took another blood culture to make sure there wasn't a contaminant to cause the growth which is what I hope for.  They are weaning him down on the oxygen pressure which is great.  The sooner they get him down to room air pressure the sooner they can move him.
The nurse said the dr was talking about transfer but nurse said they usually move the babies on a return trip.  Like one baby is coming back to hospital and one catches a ride back to where that one was.  Being a lateral move (both hospitals are a level 3) it is not likely there will be a ride to catch.  Working on finding out more ways to move him.  Angel flight told me he needs ground transport. But not sure if that is because it would be overkill or because it isn't safe.  When joe worked at metro aviation he helped modify the units the babies went in on the medical helicopters and they are pressure controlled.
Nurse tonight said he had one episode of bradycardia and she did have to stimulate him.  Otherwise he is doing good and weighs 2# 5oz.  He won't gain much now that food has stopped :(
He is tolerating the oxygen at its level which is great and she said he is a very sweet boy.  I said aren't they all at this stage? And she said no not really and laughed.  Said some can be little "tarts."  I assume that is synonymous with sour, bad etc.  She said she can't promise he won't be a tart when he leaves but he is sweet now :). The day nurse said he has one over the hearts of all the nurses.
Love my little man!
I hope my little man looks like this tonight all comfy on his tummy (his fav position)

Court day! May 22

Today is the day! We woke up and went to attny office to sign some papers for our background checks.  We received a packet of papers that the birth parents filled out about them.  Not much information was disclosed but you could see the immaturity.  They do have goals for their future which is great.  Birth father wants to study engineering and birth mother wants to be a special ed teacher. I hope they are able to achieve these goals one day.  They do have a long way to go being their both didn't go past 11th grade due to the birth of their first son.
We plan to be open to Wesley through his years about his adoption.  I hope he appreciates us telling him from the beginning.  It's a tough call but based on those I know who are adopted, they were happy to know from the beginning.
It will be a toss up to what color eyes Wes will have.  Birth mothers are green and fathers are brown.  Birth father didn't fill out any of his family history :(. Birth mothers parents were green and brown eyed and all her grandparents had blue eyes.  Large chance Wesley's will be brown not that it matters but it's one of the questions parents are curious about. Birth father has curly hair and mothers is straight.  I do not know which trait is dominant and it will be interesting to see how Wesley developes.
After the attny we went to the hospital for a 30 min visit with Wesley before we went to courthouse.  Wesley had a new nurse today.  He was a super sweet man who told us his experience with kangaroo care (skin to skin). He explained it's a gradual process where u work ur way up to daily skin to skin but have to monitor the patient at the beginning to make sure it isn't causing harm.  We may wait to try until he is transferred so we don't disrupt the schedule of things since we can't have daily visits.
Wesley is up to 2# 3.5 oz!  Now that he is on feedings he seems to be growing each day by an ounce.
We went to the courthouse and went to the judges chambers.  It was informal but still a little intimidating.  Luckily we had nothing to fear.  We had to swear in and then the attny asked us a few questions like how long we have been married, where is family, how is neighborhood, is home suitable etc.  after that the judge asks a few then she signs the paper and it's done!
Next step is in a year when we apply to finalize the adoption and get his birth certificate in his name and our name
Best part is his birth parents can't change their mind.  It's done.  We would have to be pretty awful people for them to take him away and then he would be property of the state.  Never will happen so no worries!
After that we went over to sheriffs office for fingerprints then back to hospital for a final visit before we headed home.
Wesley was smiling again and didn't like how they put him on his side.  He's a picky fella!
We told Wesley we loved him and got our things and headed home.  On the way the dr called with his update.  Wesley's xrays are improving, blood work is normal and cardiologist ultrasounded his heart.  He has a mild murmur that isn't worrysome.  The cardiologist does want to monitor it though.  All in all he's doing great.  I did ask the nurse earlier if they can be doing as well as him and still not make it and he said unfortunately yes.  We will continue to pray that Wesley stays as strong as he is!

May 21 Wesley you have changed our world

Wesley is doing well and they are increasing his feedings.  He is still having heart rate issues and the dr wants to run blood work and xrays to make sure an infection isn't starting.  He doesn't think so but doesn't want to miss it if it is.  He also has a faint murmur and if still present at 30 weeks he will have an echo.
Tomorrow is our court date so we are headed to Monroe tonight to stay at the McDonald house again and to see Wesley.
I didn't get to leave work as early as planned but we did bring in 8 beautiful basset hound pups via c section
On the way to Monroe baby Mommas told me the basset mom was bleeding and they were headed to er :( please pray for momma Dolly and her now 8 bottle babies!  ER thinks she may have a bleeding disorder.
So we get to the hospital and see our beautiful boy.  He gets more and more handsome each time we see him.  Nurse asked if we wanted to hold him.  WOW we didn't think we could.  And we were not going to refuse!  We have better pics on the camera but here are some with our phones.
It was truly amazing to hold this tiny man.  He is a very curious boy and looks at everything.  I think he will have my brains ;). By the looks of his long feet I think he will be taller than us too.  We could have done skin to skin but it was too hard with a t-shirt on so tomorrow we will pick me up a button up shirt and may try before we leave town. Today was an awesome day!
There is Wesley before we left all snug in his incubator ;)

May 20th

Wesley had his feedings increased and they are weaning down his oxygen flow.  He's doing good with mild episodes of low heartrate but he is recovering on his own.
Picked up the crib tonight and it looks great.  Can't wait to set it up yay!
Just called to check on him and the nurse is over enthusiastic but sweet.  Said he's doing wonderful and tolerating his feeding increase and is looking around right now checking out his surroundings.  Said he is 2lb even today
I can't wait to see him tomorrow! Going to stay the night again and go to court in the morning.

Monday May 19th

Wesley is doing well... I missed the dr's call but the nurse said everything was staying the same.  Feedings still going and he is tolerating them.  Nurse tonight said his vitals have been great and he is sleeping well.  Yay for boreing updates!!!
Joe and I go to Monroe on Thursday for our court date to finish all the legal Mumbo jumbo.  Then we have nothing to worry about for another year, then we finalize the adoption.
Got a great deal on a solid wood crib and will be picking it up tomorrow evening. Also a classmate from vetschool is giving me her car seat and stroller travel system! Yay! Looking online at registry right now. So many things and I bet most I don't need!
I had an adventure today with a tiger.  I will have lots of crazy stories to tell Wesley as he grows!

Sunday May 18th

Well I had hardly any sleep last night... All I wanted to do was be at the hospital with Wesley.  When we finally got there he was passed out asleep.  We got some cute pictures that I will need to upload on the computer.  We shared with the nurses all my adventures being a vet and talked about all our dogs.  They say Wesley is such a sweet baby and how cute he is.  I said aren't they all at this age and size?  I am glad they like him though ;).
How could u not like him?! ;)
One of the nurses gave us some ideas for pictures, so we took our wedding rings and washed them real good and placed them on Wesley's wrist.  Well joes was huge on him, but mine would have been hard to get back off his hand if we pushed too hard.
Amazing how big Joe's ring is on him!
We also bought a stuffed hippo in the gift shop to lay next to him for pictures.  And one day we can give the hippo to Wesley and show him how small he was.  Those pictures are on the camera though.
Wesley did have another transfusion last night but won't need another for a while. He still is having periodic drops of his heartrate and sometimes he needs stimulation and sometimes he recovers on his own.  He had one episode while we were there.  The Dr restarted feeding him around noon.  I'm sure his belly will be happy.  Dr. Said in about 2 weeks we should be able to transfer him safely.  Yay!
Wesley started to have trouble with having rapid breathing.  The nurse suctioned his nose, flipped him on stomach, checked temp and nothing
Helped.  The respiratory therapist came and used a device to pound his chest to get him to cry and break up any gunk in his lungs.  Still no luck.  Then she stuck a catheter down nose and suctioned some gunk and that seemed to do the trick.  About that time we decided to head home.  It's always so hard to go.
Love you baby Wesley and we hope to see you again soon!

Saturday May 17 Wesley is 2 weeks old!!

Wesley is doing well with his breathing, heart rate dropped again this morning but he recovered on his own.  Dr called and said he is doing well on breathing and said still too soon for transfer but it's getting better yay!  His red count was low so he said they would do a transfusion today.  He is tolerating his food but they will discontinue feeds while transfusing.  The nurse said he gets caffeine in his IV, I thought this was interesting.  I don't think she was joking.
Tonight we were trying to decide what to have for dinner and the thought came to mind about going and staying the night at the McDonald house.  Only 10$ key deposit and the stay is free! Just have to have hospital call them to prove we have a baby there.  How cool is that?!?!
We arrived in Monroe and checked in to the McDonald house.  It's fully stocked with snacks, drinks and food you can cook.  Pretty nice for a free room.
Got to the hospital and Wesley has another roommate.  Now he isn't the only boy.  This one is smaller than Wes was when he was born.  Prayers for the little guy.  The two girls he's been bunking with seem to be doing well too.  Wesley got his blood this afternoon and he was nice and pink for us.  I asked about the caffeine and it's true.  They use it for the apnea (stopping breathing). So even Wesley gets his morning cup!
Wesley greeted us with a wave today!  He is filling out.  He's just a hair under 2lbs!!!! Yay!!! His head is rounding out and looking less come shaped too.  We have a looker here.  Ladies watch out! Of course I'm biased ;).
Joe was ecstatic to see his prints on his incubator.  He didn't think they made them.  We will take them home tomorrow.  How cute are those tiny toes!
He started to ham up the camera with smiles before we left.  Poor guy has wires all over him.
We will be back in the morning to see our little buddy.  Good night all!

Friday May 16

Waiting for dr to call but nurse says he's doing well. Breathing good, no feeding yet, heart rate stable.  I dread the day they tell me otherwise.
Every time I see a baby on tv I get sad and think of Wesley.  I want to be with him, hold him, talk to him... It's not fair.  But I am thankful he is getting good treatment and is doing well.
His bedding came today! Boy that was fast.  Now he needs a bed to put it on haha.
Dr calls when I'm in a room and he didn't even try to call clinic.  I hope if something was wrong he would.  I called back and my nurse was in the bathroom and they took a message for her to call me back.  She never did.  Ugh!
Made my usual 9pm call and the nurse said he is doing good and they started his feedings again at 1/2cc an hour.  Bili lights are still off yay! He did get bradycardic one time (slow heart rate) and she had to stimulate him and he went back to normal.  This is her first time having Wesley so she wasn't sure if that was norm for him and I told her they never had to stimulate him.  She assured me that it was normal for preemies.  She told me the dr consulted with another dr in New Orleans about the thyroid and they said to test in a week.
I can't wait to see my boy on Sunday... It can't come fast enough!

Thursday, May 15, 2014

Thursday May 15th

Wesley is doing great so this won't be much of a blog today.  He was having some episodes of bradycardia yesterday (slow heart rate) so they watched him close today.  He is doing good on the machine in his nose for breathing and they are gradually weaning him off of it.  Still no feeds today but that will start tomorrow. Dr said so far the culture is negative and if the final is negative they will discontinue antibiotics.  His belly is looking good, no distention. Alert and happy!
Just called for the night update and nurse said all is good and they checked his bilirubin and it was good so the bili lights are off yay! His heart rate has been stable too.  I asked if they checked his thyroid bc yesterday the dr mentioned they would but she could not find it in the chart so I will have to ask tomorrow.  I keep forgetting to ask his weight ugh! But prob good bc it goes up and down and I may get discouraged if it goes down.  He was sound asleep when I called... I wish I could just sit there all night and watch him sleep :( It's hard being far away.  I won't rush his arrival though.  I want a strong healthy boy when he gets here!

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

It's a good day bc we see Wesley!

Wesley got his second gift today from miss Jenny from yogi and friends.  Can you guess what was on the outfits?!  Of course tigers and lions! Soooo cute!

Dr called later than usual... He seems like me, late to get in but will bust but all night if he had to.
He said something about air in his intestine (he has a very heavy accent so hard to interpret) and having to stop the feedings again.  Only on one bili light instead if two.  Doing well on breathing device that he is on.  They sent off another culture and results are pending.  His general screen showed possible low thyroid so they will send off another test tomorrow.  It may just be low due to him being "sick."
Today Joe and I left early to get to Monroe before visiting ended at 6. We arrived at 5:15 and the NICU nurse took off his mask and cap and removed the bili light so we could visit.
He kept his eyes open the whole time and was following us.  He looks so good compared to the first time we saw him.  He is weighing 1# 14oz! She said he lost but that's more than the last weight I got on Saturday. One of his bunk mates started to cry while we were there and it startled him.  Joe reached in and Wes grabbed his finger and started to settle. Looks like the boys have hit it off!  Here is a video: http://youtu.be/Avqy_qGqt6M
Wesley was even smiling for us which was super adorable but I couldn't catch him with my phone.  Joe may have gotten it on the real camera but my laptop is at work so I can't upload them.
Before we left we told Wesley that we had to go and he started to wave him tiny hand like he knew.  Made my eyes tear! Here is a little we caught on video: http://youtu.be/QTGlY1K6RM0
Drove home and grabbed dinner, then went to target to see what all they had.  Looked at all the beds and strollers and car seats OH MY! So many choices.  Guess I need to research!  And of course we browsed at the clothes which was dangerous.  We left with a few outfits we
Couldn't walk away from.  Only one I picked joe disapproved of but it's
Plaid which I love and it's yellow and blue which yellow is my fav color.  I love it!!
We mailed out the documents for court next week.  Don't know the exact day yet.  Now I have to figure out with my schedule which day we can go back to see him this weekend.  Common Wesley heal thy lungs so you can come here!!!!

May 13 Wesley update

Today was my first day being responsible for what is going on with Wesley.  And today they asked me what his name was! That was the most exciting part.  They can finally call him by his name.
I learned that his birth mom was pumping to supply him milk.  I had to give permission to use donor milk when that ran out.  Wesley is doing well in NICU. He    Was started back on feedings after his dr spoke with me.  He has had no brain bleeds and does not need another transfusion.  His blood type is A+ which means that Joe (O+) and myself (A-) can both donate to him if needed.  Our main focus is getting his lungs strong.  His labs are all normal and no infection.  They tell me he isn't a fussy baby.  The nurse tonight was so happy she could tell me anything and she was very excited for Joe and I.
We received our first Wesley gift today from Ms. Markham.  She gave him an adorable stuffed blue owl and a cute outfit that says Prince Charming on it :)
We decided to go with a hippo nursery theme that is green and chocolate.  I can't wait to see all the hippo stuff come in!
Tomorrow we will go see Wes for the 9pm visiting.  It's hard going that late but from 6-9 there is no visitors.  Until then, not much to report!

Today is the day! Monday May 12th

Today is the biggest step in the adoption process... The signing of the surrenders by the birth parents.  Until this is done, the birth parents can change their mind. I can't imagine that feeling of getting this far and the adoption failing.  You can be out a lot of money with nothing to show in the end.  It's all based on a signature.  Ink on paper that will change your life and the birth families life forever.
Originally the birthmom was to sign at 9:30am CST. I could feel my heart racing at work as this time approaches.  I used my heart rate monitor app on my phone and it was 114!  I kept forgetting to breathe and I was out of breath.  Felt like the beginings of a panic attack.  I took slow deep breaths to ease the stress.  10:30 they call and tell me they are both signing at 12:30.  UGH I was already worked up and now I have to wait more!
I kept on with work, luckily we were busy.  Time was going yet still felt like forever.  12:15 I head home for lunch.  12:30 approaches;  everyone is on edge and counting the seconds.  Wesley doesn't realize how big of a family he has.  So many people are following his story on FB.  12:45 comes and so do all the txt msgs and posts on FB.  No I have not heard anything. I was getting overwhelmed with all the people asking.  I was already stressed enough!  I do appreciate everyone rooting for him and us.  He is going to be one well loved and spoiled baby!
Almost 2 and no word.  I head back to work and again we are busy.   So happy we are busy but I just want to sit and stare at my phone until it rings.
Why haven't they called!? 5:00 I've had enough and I call.  They were just about to call me.  They were working on faxing the surrenders to the hospital!  "They are signed!?"  Yes they were!!! Yay! The biggest hill to climb is over!
Next step is to go before the judge and put him in our name!
The attny told me I should be able to be updated like previous so I waited until 9pm CST to call.  This is when the new shift nurse has been working a few hours and has all the info.  I call and the same one from the last two nights answer.  I ask if the chart has been updated and she said it had not.  When I told her they signed she was so excited for us.  She did tell me some but not details.  He is back on the bili light, they stopped his feedings again because he was having episodes of apnea (not breathing).  This is normal for this stage of development.  Sometimes they forget to breathe.  They changed his breathing machine and he is doing much better.  They ran some tests and all came back normal.  She said he is a good boy and isn't fussy.
I plan to call in the morning and get this straight so I can get more info.  I can't wait to see Wesley's name on his paper on his incubator.
Joe and I were so excited and had been waitin to buy anything bc we didn't know if it was going to happen.  Joe really wanted Wes to have a suit so he found one in 3-6 mo and he had to buy it
No we just need an even to take him to lol.  We also bought a couple preemie sets and a newborn set that had hippos on it.  Hippos are Joe's favorite animal so it was a must have item!

Hopefully I have more updates tomorrow on his health.  At least we can now rest knowing we are one huge step closer to Wesley benign ours!
